Missouri's Largest Small-Town History Museum
You're probably just passing through.
But what if Clinton, Missouri, turned out to be the most surprising stop on your entire trip? Step inside an authentic early 1900s village, explore a one-room schoolhouse where kids can still ring the bell, and walk through a dogtrot log cabin built before the Civil War — all just off your route and waiting to be discovered.
What's Waiting for You
Stroll down a brick-lined main street complete with a drug store, apothecary, provisions store, barber shop, bank, and law office — all authentically furnished and ready to explore. A 1907 International Harvester AutoWagon stands ready to make its daily deliveries, just as it did over a century ago.
Step Into A 1900s Indoor Village
Ring the bell, sit at the desks, and experience exactly how students learned in the 1880s. Our fully functional one-room schoolhouse is a guaranteed smile — for kids and adults alike.
Be a Kid Again
Built in the 1850s, this beautifully preserved dogtrot-style log cabin shows you how Missouri families lived, worked, and survived on the frontier. Every room tells a story.
Life Before the Civil War
